Elliptical tables by Carl Hansen & Son
Carl Hansen & Son, the world’s largest producer of furniture designed by Hans J. Wegner, is launching no fewer than six new dining tables at IMM Cologne 2011, designed by the master himself. Wegner worked on the tables back in 1962, but they were never produced in large numbers. The table designs, a textbook example of Wegner’s persistent experimentation with form and material, are all inspired by an adapted ellipse. The new series of elliptical tables comprises models CH334, CH335, CH336, CH337, CH338 and CH339. With their original forms and clean lines, the tabletops investigate the possibilities of circular shapes, renewing the classical ellipse and providing excellent seating for all without annoying corners.
