The Waterhouse at South Bund – China

The Waterhouse at South Bund is a vigorously planned and created 19 room boutique hotel with a clear element of excitement.

The Waterhouse started as a 1930’s warehouse in Shanghai’s old docklands, when Singaporean lawyer-turned-hotelier Loh Lik Peng boarded on a voyage of total restoration, loading the interiors with his brand design furnishings which gives the hotel added sophistication.

The hotel is home to a variety of room types, including: Copula One, Copula Two, River Junior Courtyard, Courtyard Suite, Bund Junior, Bund Suite, Terrace Suite, and River Suite.

The Copula One comes complete with a standing shower, view of the courtyard and the ability to connect to Copula Two. Copula Two is similar to One but comes with a shower and bathtub.

Some River Junior Courtyard rooms come with an extension to a balcony with wonderful views of the Huangpu River. Courtyard Suites have king-size beds, with most having a patio that looks out to the courtyard.

Bund Junior rooms come complete with a standing shower and bathtub, with views of the Huangpu River. Bund Suites measure 45 square meters, with two of the available suites having a view of the LuJiaZui financial district, and one of the river.

Terrace Suite has a sunny terrace and courtyard view, complete with a free standing tub and walk-in shower. River Suites are the largest suites, standing at 54 square meters, with king-size beds, separate walk-in showers, as well as a view of the Huangpu River.

The Waterhouse at South Bund is home to three dining experiences: Table N°1, The Roof at Waterhouse, and The Lobby Bar.

Table N°1 is a destination restaurant, which serves world-influenced contemporary European dishes in a casual and modern environment. Social relations is encouraged with a fresh, new dining idea. The Roof at Waterhouse is a rooftop terrace bar, offering a magnificent view of the city’s skyline; light food is also available. The Lobby Bar offers all day light meals and afternoon tea in a tranquil atmosphere.
